Variation 7

#wholebow #bowlift #spiccato

This variation is the first one to adopt the dynamic structure of the theme. Pay special attention to the quality of the spiccato notes in the crescendo from the piano to forte. Use more bow to reinforce the dynamic change.

Similar to Variation 5, this variation builds awareness of the entire bow length together with a bow lift and articulation originating in the fingers and wrist. It is crucial to begin right at the tip at the start of every other measure in the opening section and start at the frog at every second measure as indicated by the Fr. abbreviation. These two Fr. notes can be played either on the string or off the string, as it is slightly unclear whether the lack of the ) symbol as is evident in the next piano section indicates a difference of stroke. If so, then the Fr. should be on the string.

Correction- In the third measure of the third line, the first note should be marked as a B natural.
