Variation 36

#upbowstaccato #options

This is yet another variation that can be performed with either an on the string up bow staccato or off the string up bow spiccato. For greatest benefit, practice both, but lean toward prioritizing the on the string stroke. It is useful to be able to execute a rapid up bow staccato and develop this rapid articulation in your bow technique. Using the metronome will be incredibly helpful for getting to the final tempo. Increase the speed very gradually as you become accustomed to each new metronome speed.

Just like in Variation 33, Ševčík curiously marks this variation dolce. Try to find a friendly character for the rapid 16ths. Not overly articulated, but still clear. Imagine a mezzo piano dynamic and then drop down to piano in line four without sacrificing clarity in the 16th notes.
