Variation 35

#wholebow #bowlift #upbowspiccato

This variation provides some much-needed respite between comparably more difficult variations. It returns to a frequently seen marking of G., which stipulates that the player use the entire bow length for each slur that contains the marking. As in previous variations, with this marking it is important to truly use the entire length of the bow. All available hair should be played. Lift the bow slightly in the rests as marked by the ) marking seen in the first measure and aim for a very precise rhythm in the 32nd note pairings.

In measure three and all other similar measures, use a fast bow stroke for the first two slurs to help propel the up bow spiccato stroke for the remaining 16th notes.

Correction- While the tempo marking indicates quarter note = 63, given the time signature, one can assume this is an error and should be read as dotted quarter note = 63.
